yellow pill
Poem by Emily Alber
Her sweet yellow shade—
a ray of sunshine
burns in the palm of my hand.
What she offers:
a fated companionship,
toxic but true.
Come in.
With the weight of a feather,
she strikes—
Dream-like tranquility
lights up my eyes.
She fades—
slow,
like the pain
she would cause in the end.
